Membership
All current and former employees of Norfolk Southern Railway and their families are eligible to join Railway Employees Credit Union. As with all financial institutions, legislation requires that personal identification be confirmed. A current driver's licence and birth certificate are the most common forms of identification provided.
Credit Unions are democratic, member-owned financial institutions that keep a total focus on the members they serve. Credit Unions have no external shareholders influencing the course of their activities and their Boards reflect the will of the membership.
Once initial membership has been approved, shareholding status may be retained regardless of changes in personal circumstances such as employment moves and retirement.
Railway Employees Credit Union was formed in 1935. It currently has a membership of approximately 1550 with assets exceeding $14 million.
How do I become a member? Eligible applicants should Contact or Email the RECU and all necessary documentation will be provided.
